If the employer is not willing to share your I-140 approval status with you, is there a way to find out this information from other sources?
I currently have my 485 & AP numbers but do not have I-140 number to track on the USCIS website.

Hope you don't mind me messing with this a bit, but sometimes it's easier to do it in photoshop than to explain with words what could be different. View the attached thumbnail (click on it for fullversion) to see how a slight change in the position of the elements could affect the photograph (the "ZING" as Lecter calls it ;)).
You did, however, pick a good time of day for your photo. Too early and the plane might be even darker with no detail, and too late and the moon would have to be overexposed if you wanted the rest of the picture to look like it does now.

In my case i am a consultant, and keep on moving like 8-9 months....... dont have any permanent address.............. i am sure a lot of ppl will be in the same position as i am............. so what are you guys doing for the addresses on the 485/EAD/AP..........
AFAIK, You can file AR 11 online. Once you are done with filing AR11, it will ask you all the applications on file with USCIS. If you give your receipt numbers, it will update the address associated with those applications.
To avoid any confusion as of now, (if your 485 and 693 has different addresses) attach an addendum explaining why you were medical was done in FL, while your permanent address is out of the DC area.
Just my thoughts, talk to your lawyer and see what he will say.

These days with tons and tons of I-485 applications received every morning, how is USCIS gonna decide which one to process first?
If it's strictly on "first received, first processed" base, then it may well be that one guy with 3/07 PD date may have his application processed earlier (thus earlier AP and EAD) than one with 5/06 PD date. Simply because the 3/07 PD guy sent out the package much earlier than the 5/06 PD one.

When i travelled using AP i had Just One copy and when IO asked for rest i said they are with the attorney.
The IO said i should carry all AP copies and can reuse the one which is stamped.

Hi all,
I submitted an application via premium processing for EB-1a with USCIS at the Texas Premium Processing Centre last month (April 2007).
I received an RFE notification via letter after two weeks listing the requirement of further evidence against 3 out of the 8 criteria I submitted.
I can submit further evidence - but my question is this ... "Why have they not made mention of the other 5 criteria I submitted" ? Has this failed ? Do they not matter ?. I am quite concerned because they have not made any mention of my other criteria ? Does anyone have any advice.

We had the same situation with my wife's H1-B. We spoke to the lawyer and he had forwarded us an e-mail reply from USCIS, stating that USCIS had decided to issue the validity of 797 from the date of adjudication or approved date rather than from the previous expired h1B date and this is not happening across all the cases. I also have applied at the same time as my wife's h1 and My h1b dates are matching.

Hi,
I need your help on this tricky (at least for me) situation. I am a Software Developer right now and want to chanfe my job to a PM (product manager), but within the same division, same employer. Apparently the job descirption of PM (like new product functional design...) will be different from the one of developer (like new product technical design, coding...).
Right now, my GC status is: PERMLC got approved Dec/2006. I-140 was filed on Feb/2007 and still pending. I-485/AP/EAD were filed on Aug/2007 and pending.
My questions are:
1) I know the AC 21 law, say after Feb 2008(180 days after my 485 filing) and if the 140 gets approved by then too, I can do ANY job change within teh same employer or even switch to another employer, is this true? Or, I still have to stick to the similar job type(SW developer in my case), no matter within a same employer or different one?
2) Before I can use AC21, say from now to Feb2008, I know I can not switch to another employer. But can I change my job to PM with the same employer. Will this affect my 485/GC case? If so, is there any solution or workaround so that I can change my job "smartly" without affecting 485?

Since USCIS is done with all I-485 cases, should they not allow filing of I-485 when PD is not current? Or at least they should allow filing I-485 for the people who's I-140 is approved and PD is not current.

I m an MBA(major:general mba)student in a university in texas. I have an bachelors of engineeing (electrical & electronics)from india. I have found an desi employer who is ready to train me in SAP (FICO)functional and than place me on projects to diffeent companies. Since i m graduating in august 2008 ,At first i have to work for him on OPT and than in apil 2009 my employer will sponcer my h1 visa.
Now my question is....
1) can i work in SAP FICO functional , when i m on my opt?(opt means i have to work in a job directly related to my major field of study and i guess SAP is not related to my field major field of study)
2)will i have problems getting a h1b visa? (since General MBA and SAP are completely different fields )
Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated.

Evidence of eligibility.
Based on an immigrant petition.
Attach a copy of the approval notice for an immigrant petition that makes a visa number immediately available to you, or submit a complete relative,special immigrant juvenile, or special immigrant military petition which, if approved, will make a visa number immediately available to you.
You do not need the original at all. It is property of the employer.
